The Zeeuws Museum Foundation is led by a director. A Board of Trustees performs a supervisory role in line with the Code Cultural Governance published in 2019. The principles of the code are enshrined in the foundation’s statute, which determines the division of responsibilities between the director and the board. The Board of Trustees performs an annual evaluation of the functioning of the foundation. The director is appointed and dismissed by the Board of Trustees. The trustees are nominated by the board and appointed by the Provincial Executive of Zeeland.

COMPOSITION AND PROFILES

The Board of Trustees of the Zeeuws Museum Foundation has seven members, including the chairperson. In drawing up nominations, we prepare a short profile including the most desirable areas of expertise and other qualifications. We strive for a balanced composition of the board in terms of gender, age and (inter)national or local background. It is expected that one member of the board enjoy the trust of the Royal Zeeland Society of Arts and Sciences since their collection forms the basis of the Zeeuws Museum.

We strive to have trustees with expertise in the fields of science, art, finance, politics, management, marketing and publicity. It is preferable for one of the board members to have a network in the (inter)national museum community.
